CCCS has adopted modesty requirements as the required dress code. The following is a list describing what is and is not acceptable. However, this list is NOT all inclusive. The Administrator will have the final say as to whether a child’s dress is or is not acceptable. Please use your best judgment before sending your child to school. Three main principles dominate our philosophical position with regard to student dress. The modesty requirements are not intended to measure spirituality, but to serve as a tool to accomplish these specific goals: (1) Create an atmosphere free from distractions; (2) Build character that exhibits self-discipline, modesty, cleanliness, and submission; (3) Inspire the making of responsible choices. By our dress we represent the feelings and thoughts of our hearts. Therefore, our clothing should represent our desire to please God and move toward true maturity. We do expect our families to support these policies even though there may be some areas of disagreement. This list in NOT all inclusive. Discretion is left up to the Administrator as to whether or not dress is appropriate. GENERAL GUIDELINES: 1. Discretion is left up to the Administrator as to whether or not dress is appropriate. 2. Jackets/coats are not to be worn in the classroom. Lockers will be provided for these items. 3. Tennis shoes must always be worn on gym days. 4. Any type of sweat pant or sweat shirt is unacceptable. On the first occurrence, the student will be warned, and if the offense is not extreme, they will be allowed to complete the school day. 2. On the second occurrence, parents will be called to bring appropriate clothing, and the student will be required to sit in the office until the parent arrives. 3. On the third occurrence, the parents will be called to bring appropriate clothing while the student waits, and the child will serve a one hour work detention after school. (At this point there will be a parent/student conference with the Administrator.) 4. The fourth occurrence will be considered a habitual problem, and a parent/Administrator conference will be held to determine whether or not the student wants to remain at CCCS. XIII. DISCIPLINE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES It is our desire to set a standard of Christian conduct that will encourage our students to develop a Christian lifestyle, so that they might be a Godly example to others with whom they come in contact. Toward this end, it is our goal to help our students become self-disciplined, respect authority, and submit to Godly principles in their personal conduct. Our desire is not to inflict punishment, but to train our students to be self-disciplined in all areas of their lives. Therefore, discipline needs to be focused on helping the student make wise decisions in the future and not just on past mistakes.
